batman-arkham-knightAnd if having Joker being hallucinated by Batman in the ARKHAM KNIGHT game was not enough Joker for you, you can play as Batgirl and fight the Joker in a prequel titled MATTER OF FAMILY to be available on July 21.  Proof that you can’t keep a good (psychotic) clown down for good…. here is the preview trailer from ARKHAM VIDEOS.  Please enjoy and play if you have your PS4 looks like a good story line

(I’ll try to get more scenes of this story line and will post them here for your enjoyment)

batman-arkham-knightTrue boys and girls…

Just because he died in the ARKHAM CITY story line does not mean that the Joker would be gone.  He now seems embedded in the Batman’s psyche and pops in and out of the game as hallucinations triggered by Scarecrow’s toxin. Probably just for the ratings, but still, I’m very glad to see the Clown again in this last installment of the game. I personally have not bought the game since I don’t have a PS4 yet, but found the Joker scenes in YouTube so I wanted to share them with you all…

tumblr_nncbxi0hcg1tmmk43o1_400_zpsuc3lwnadCBR has reported that actor Jared Leto, who plays the Joker in the upcoming SUICIDE SQUAD movie to be released next year, started to get into character with his alter ego the Clown Prince of Crime WAY BEFORE he was on the set.  He did so by welcoming some of the cast member with strange gifts.  Here is a copy of  article

It’s now a bit of a tradition — if you play the Joker on film, you have to really get into character. Following in Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger’s footsteps, Jared Leto — who will debut as Joker in 2016’s “Suicide Squad” — has wasted no time slipping into the mindset of the Clown Prince of Crime. In an interviewwith E! Online, Leto’s “Squad” co-star Adam Beach revealed that the Academy Award-winning actor greeted all of his castmates with some gruesome gifts.

“He sent Harley [Margot Robbie] a nice love letter with a black box with a rat in it — a live rat,” revealed Adam Beach, who is reportedly playing Slipknot in the film. “It was beautiful. Then he sent bullets to Will [Smith] with a letter.”

Since “Suicide Squad” began filming before Leto arrived on set, the actor apparently felt the need to assure his co-stars that he was preparing for the role. This involved sending a “dead hog” to the set, addressed to everyone, with an accompanying video message featuring himself in full Joker mode.

“Basically, what he said was, ‘Guys, I can’t be there but I want you to know I’m doing my work as hard as you guys,'” said Beach. “The video he showed is in character. It blew our minds away. Then we realized that day, this is real.”

Beach went on to talk about Leto’s specific rendition of the Joker. “He encompasses this beautiful man and he shows it in, ‘Hello, how are you?,’ but in an instant, he goes to psychotic behavior where you’re in fear. But you love him because he has both of those genuine sides.”

“Suicide Squad” opens on August 5, 2016.

I don’t know…maybe there is hope for this Joker portrayal after all.  I mean if an Oscar winning actor is so invested in his character to do this, maybe we will see a successful characterization of everybody’s favorite psychopathic Clown…ONLY TIME WILL TELL

RafRobledoJrJKR.jpgI sometimes like to do my own statues and sculptures when I want certain figure or pose that I like.  I know that companies are not there for me, so I go and take a lump of Sculpey and just start creating my figures. I love learning new things about customizing and sculpting figures and I find this guy to be if not the best, pretty darn close.  His name is RAFAEL ROBLEDO Jr. and he has a YouTube channel that showcases his work HERE.  He does ALL kinds of customizations and some are pretty neat.

Then I found he customized a Joker sculpture, and decided I had to share that with Jokerdom.  Here are the video series for your entertainment.

untitledJust wanted to give my Jokerholic friends a heads up.

I finished watching today’s episode of GOTHAM which starred Jonathan Crane and his father in search of a cure for fear (great origin episode by the way) but what caught my attention is the fact that on the previews for the show next week, the big hint is the quote you see in the title….COULD IT BE?  ARE THEY HINTING A POSSIBLE JOKER ORIGIN STORY?

Well, it was less than thirty seconds long, but the kid evil laugh is a little creepy and scary…maybe this is it. What new origin are they cooking for our favorite clown?  Hope they don’t give much.  I don’t want the whole episode focused on the kid who will become the Joker (or two like they did with Crane), but I would still would like to see what hints they will throw out there.

I know many people out there DON’T want to see a Joker, but the series is doing a good job with hinting all the characters personalities in their futures impersonations as well as giving very plausible origin stories based on science and real facts. ( the only one I think they need tweaking is Nigma, but that is just me).

Just check out the episode.  I think it will be interesting.  The series is not that bad…I find it refreshing to have a Batman series without well…Batman.   It is interesting knowing that all these characters we love (and hate depending on what team you play) had a life before the creep in the Bat-suit starting jumping from roofs.

Take a look at the preview from MOVIEWEB.COM

Remember GOTHAM airs every Monday at 8pm on Fox…see ya there next week!

It was about time.

joker

Using the latest in animatronic technology, the IAAPA Expo 2014 revealed the new JOKER animatronic to embellish the Six Flags parks of Texas and St. Louis new ride JUSTICE LEAGUE: BATTLE FOR METROPOLIS 4D.  Though slightly cartoony looks and somewhat limited in animation, the voice over makes up for it.  Yep…that sounds like Mark Hamill donning the voice of the Clown Prince of Crime one last time, or it could just be Troy Baker…I just can’t tell, but most resources confirms it is Hamill’s voice indeed.

Well, the 4D interactive dark ride will be opening at Six Flags St. Louis and Six Flags Over Texas in 2015.

In addition to the Joker and Cyborg, other DC characters that will be included in the ride will be Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Lex Luthor. Guests will climb aboard six-passenger motion-based vehicles, which were also unveiled at the convention, created by Oceaneering:

Just finished my copy of THE WORLD ACCORDING TO JOKER. A tiny book written by Matthew K Manning (The Batman Files), from the point of view of the Clown Prince of Crime takes the reader through his mental rationalizations, emotions and playfully deadly machinations.  From his origins (at least what Joker lets you know about that), to his motivations, to his relationship with Harley and Batman, the Joker’s mind is opened in a hilarious and entertainment read.   The book is sprinkled with comments from Dr. Arkham himself, trying to analyze the Joker’s train of thought on base of the “his psychiatric sessions with the Clown”

Only downside of the book.  It is definitely written with the young ones in mind so the humor is slightly watered down enough to be funny to kids without being too morbid or dark.  Not that that is a bad thing per se, but limits the potential of this book.  Oh, the showers of things Joker could have said or done in this book that would have been hilarious to a much mature audience…but I guess the audience determined the content of the book.

The art is new and refreshing.  When it would have been easy to get already used images from old comics, apparel, or cartoons,  Joel Gomez and Beth Sotelo create new and art dedicated to the book content.  The art though simple, covers different aspects of Joker’s psyche and ranges from stick figures (for Joker’s little stories) to whole panels and a great variety of sketches.

In general it can be said that it was a good read, but I would have loved more…not only on content, but also in length.  62 pages seemed like a breeze when you deal with someone as disturbed as the Joker. They heard the fan’s prayers….

Yes, after the great story arc of  DEATH OF THE FAMILY…the end was bitter sweet.  The Joker probably didn’t survive the fall and if he did, he would not survive the possible infection that would have followed losing his rotted face for good (not even considering that you should not wear anything rotted on top of open wounds…what is the Joker…CRAZY???  Well, guess I think we know the answer to that….) and turned the Joker into  a new monster to scare you in Halloween.

Anyways, the good news is that in the hew story arc ENDGAME,  he did not only survived the fall (did anybody ever doubt it?), but it seems he got himself a new face too!! (and he had to since his “daughter” now wears the old face.) and I like the new face, going back to the reminiscent mug of the pre-52 Clown Prince of Crime. Here is a preview and if you want to see more…what are you waiting for?  Grab your copy of Batman #36 for part 2 of the new Joker storyline…

Even his explanation about how he has been hiding in plain sight is incredibly well written… Scott Snyder did his homework. (Just check : AFAMELANOTIDE) and the rest is pretty close to real scientific fact).

And my favorite scene when the Clown rubs his finger in Batman’s wounded Detective ego. I love the look in both Joker and Batman’s faces.  Great job Mr. Capullo!
