With the upcoming release of the new dowloadable game GOTHAM CITY IMPOSTERS (available for Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms in January 10, 2012) CBR released another little clip about the game. Remember, a console beta for the game is out this month and for fans wishing to take part on the beta, they will need to register at www.GothamCityImpostors.com.
I got my Arkham City Deluxe Edition in October, and for one or other reason had not time to unwrap it and look at all the goodies inside. Finally I did this weekend and here is a summary of what you will find:
1. Nice packaging. Identified with the Batman Arkham City official logo, the box comes in a plastic casing to enclose the whole materials. All around are images of Batman, Joker and Two Face respectively
2. Once you remove the plastic casing, the box opens like a flower to reveal the beautiful Kotobukiya Batman figure. Once you remove the figure from the box, you can admire the detail of the figure in detail.
3. The bottom of the box is a drawer that contains all the ADD-ONS (Catwoman and Penguins DLC’s along with the DARK KNIGHT skin) and a BATMAN GOTHAM KNIGHT BD DVD and a download card for the ARKHAM CITY MUSIC ALBUM (Note the Gamestop Joker add-0n is on the receipt):
4. The back pocket of the box holds the SPECIAL EDITION ARKHAM CITY BOOKLET that contains images and the actual game. Remarkable are the minor rogue gallery (with art by Carlos D’ Anda)
4. And the Joker Gallery:
5. Finally, there is the ARKHAM CITY CATALOG where you can find some more goodies you might want to buy directly from Rocksteady (Arkham City Rogue poster, Joker cap, Harley wave 2):
6. The Nightwing and Robin DLC’s are already available at PLAYSTATION STORE for $6.99 each. You don’t need a redemption code to get them.

DC has announced that due to the inmense success of the ARKHAM CITY game, they are preparing a new comic series designed to expand on that universe with ARKHAM CITY UNHINGED, “a new, weekly digital exclusive that aims to flesh out the story behind the game” and available only digitally through DC’s COMIXOLOGY store. It literally “takes the toys in the video game and gives readers a new perspective and better idea of the moving parts that the player doesn’t get to see.”
Following is an excerpt from an interview done by CBR’s Steven Sunu to series writer Derek Fridolfs:
CBR News: Derek, tell us about “Arkham Unhinged.” What’s the general plot and how does it connect with the “Arkham City” video game?
Derek Fridolfs: For those unfamiliar with the game, the idea is that the new mayor, Mayor Sharp, in association with Hugo Strange, has sectioned off an old part of Gotham with walls in order to house-in criminals from Arkham Asylum and Blackgate Prison, following some major riots and destruction that happened in the first “Arkham Asylum” game. It’s a chance to contain all of the criminals in one specific area [allowing them] to run free, as long as they don’t try to escape. It keeps Gotham safer that way — at least, that’s their intent when explaining this to the public. Bruce Wayne thinks otherwise, and decides to see for himself from inside the walls. So it’s one long night inside Arkham City as Batman investigates what’s really going on while trying to stop various things from happening.
“Arkham Unhinged” is complimentary to the Arkham City game. Now that the game is up and running, this is an ongoing, weekly, digital title that will have stories that are about what is going on in the game as well as backstories, motivations and further exploits in the Arkhamverse. It’s a chance to flesh out things maybe hinted at or not covered in the game, as well as focus on brand new stories off the beaten path and follow these characters more closely.
Anyone that’s played the game knows there’s a main storyline being told as well as side missions with various characters. There’s a whole lot there to play with, and this ongoing is a chance to leave no stone unturned. To get in there and play with all the villains as well as tell what is up with Batman and his family of heroes as the game takes place.
Within the timeline of the game, when does the book take place?
The previous “Arkham City” five-issue miniseries and the seven digital chapters [took place] in the months leading up to the opening of “Arkham City.” It helped lay the foundation for what happened following the Arkham Asylum breakout at the end of the first game, and show some of the characters who were involved leading up to the formation of a walled off section of Gotham called Arkham City. “Arkham Unhinged” takes place after that.
Judging by what we’ve seen so far, this book aims to really flesh out the conflict between Two-Face and Catwoman. Does it simply give a more detailed telling of the Arkham City story between the two characters that can be unlocked in the game, or is this something completely different?
[The “Arkham City”story] leads off the first storyline of “Unhinged.” The first few chapters actually give a bit of backstory about how Catwoman and Two-Face arrived in Arkham City, leading up to the confrontation that kicks off the opening scene in the game. From there, we’ll feature all sorts of other stories inside (and out) of Arkham City and what people are up to. Some might relate or tie-in to certain continuities of the game, but most are a chance to tell other stories and unique ideas and confrontations that don’t occur in the game.
Folks who have powered through the game know the motivation for Hugo Strange’s agenda. How does “Arkham Unhinged” help develop Strange’s character and further reveal the steps toward that motivation?
It’s a bit of a balancing act, working on this comic, as we’re trying not to spoil any major events that take place in the game — at least at first. You want to be able to allow game players and readers a chance to have some time to play the game and experience what is going on there without spoiling it in the comic. But in the months after the game has been out, we’ll be able to start delving deeper into the main story of the game and further flesh out Strange and what his main motivation is. You will find out he didn’t just come out of nowhere for “Arkham City,” that he’s been doing things behind-the-scenes since during the “Arkham Asylum” game and even before that.
One of the great things about “Arkham City” is the inclusion of so many characters from the Batman mythos. Can readers expect a similar cast of characters for “Unhinged?”
Oh, definitely. That really is one of the best things, that I get a full toybox to play with. Most of Batman’s rogues gallery are in the game, and we’re going to have a chance to go through and have stories that cover most, if not all of them. There’s a lot of crossover as well, with rivalries and vendettas. It’s no surprise that after Arkham City opens, most of the villains have splintered off into their own sections of town and their own gangs. Some are interested in acquiring more power and territory, some are just trying to survive, some want to break out and some are happier now that they’re inside and left alone. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on as many of them as possible, whether they were heavily featured in the game or not.
“Arkham Unhinged” is being released exclusively through the comiXology digital platform. Why do you think this is a good way to reach readers that might be interested in continuing the “Arkham City” storyline?
The game reaches a lot of fans, both in gaming and fans of Batman in general. These are people used to their entertainment being digital, so I think it only makes sense to tap into that market and maybe introduce those fans to comics by way of this game. The fans of the game have been anticipating “Arkham City’s” release for quite some time, and are really invested in it, eating up as much info as they can and chatting about it on message boards. The digital comics (as well as the hardcover release) have been very successful for that audience. “Unhinged” is a way to continue that, for people to read more about the Arkhamverse as they continue to play and discover the game. And for fans of comics, maybe even those that have yet to try digital, we hope this is enticing. 10 page chapters, released weekly, for 99 cents each. By today’s standards, it’s a real bargain, and we hope people will come back each week to get their fix.
The earlier Digital Exclusives were later collected into a single print issue offered as a preorder bonus for the game from Amazon.com. At present, are there plans for a similar collection for “Arkham Unhinged?”
Don’t forget, most of the digital exclusives were also collected into the hardcover of the “Arkham City” miniseries collection. As far as collecting “Unhinged,” at this point it’s digital. I leave it up to DC to decide where it goes from there. But with most of these things, if it’s popular enough, it’ll eventually get collected in some form or another.

This is probably somewhat old, but I was able to get a good link to Harley’s lullaby at the end of Arkham City. Could this be a clue as to the third (and possibly last) installment of the game? Another of those enigmatic little clues, our friends at Rocksteady are famous for (like the plans for Arkham City revealed back in Arkham Asylum. Click on the link to listen (Lullaby starts at the :50 mark).

I don’t know if anybody is interested in this kind of thing, but I found it interesting that they have formed a little community dedicated to ARKHAM CITY. I am just providing the link for the fun of it, so enjoy it.
The good people at CBR, have gone to dissect ARKHAM CITY for those little extras that are so fun to search and find. Little trinkets of information that will both entertain and give you some well earned trophies for your collection. Here is a copy of summary of “easter eggs” they have found within the game
These are the secrets we deem well worth tracking down, especially if you’re a long-time fan of the Caped Crusader. As you’ll see below, there are a number of secrets hidden within “Batman: Arkham City” that make the game worth playing multiple times through. Dig in and have fun!
The Scarecrow’s Return
Though the Scarecrow himself doesn’t appear in “Batman: Arkham City” (as he did before in the previously released “Arkham Asylum”), his presence is still felt upon discovering a mysterious boat just off the coast of the city. Simply swoop down from the sky and make your way below deck, and you’ll find a pair of subjects who have been used as guinea pigs for his fear formula, along with an invoice signed by Mr. Fine, aka Sherman Fine, who works with most supervillains when it comes to goods. The invoice indicates that Scarecrow has several shipments in tow, perhaps a sign of things to come in Gotham.
Tracking Down Azrael
Deadshot isn’t the only person lurking about Arkham City that Batman needs to keep tabs on throughout the game. Lurking about in the shadows is Azrael, who keeps a close eye on the Caped Crusader and continues to deliver spooky messages every time he runs into him. Azrael is definitely worth tracking down, as you’ll earn both “Catch” and “Mystery Stalker” Achievements or Trophies (depending on which version you’re playing) by doing so. Check out the video if you’ve been having trouble nailing down the inhinged vigilante.
Harley Quinn…Preggers?
One of the coolest Easter Eggs we’ve stumbled across in “Arkham City” has to do with something that could hint at events to come in the third game. This one’s pretty easy to find, in the opening stage where you first encounter the Joker’s hideout in the steel mill. Simply reach the area indicated and perform a few scans, and you’ll stumble across what’s pretty obviously a pregnancy test — with positive results.
Oh, and if you still don’t believe that Harley Quinn is with child, take a closer listen near the conclusion of the end credits, also included in this video. You can kind of hear her sing a psychotic lullaby!
Killer Croc Is Still Hungry
Killer Croc was one of the central characters in “Batman: Arkham Asylum,” making Batman’s life a living hell while he was trying to stop the Joker. While the cannibalistic bad guy doesn’t square off with the Dark Knight this time around, he does make a very brief return in “Arkham City,” hiding in the sewers. With a little bit of scavenging (as shown in the video), you’ll have no trouble finding him and hearing him taunt you. Yeah, come out of your cell and threaten me, Croc. I dare you.
Hidden Radio Messages Aplenty
In this video, you’ll see how Batman is able to use his decryption device in order to pick up all sorts of radio signals. Along with banter from inmates and plenty of side conversations, you’ll also be able to use this device to pick up messages just ripe for decoding. If you’re good with numbers or don’t mind figuring out what letters mean what, you might be surprised by what you find with these messages.
Batman Dies?!
Batman’s supposed to be invincible, right? Well, okay, not invincible like Superman, but he’d never find himself in a fix where he would actually succumb to his enemies, right? Wrong. “Batman: Arkham City” presents has a scenario where Catwoman is forced to come to his aid. But during a certain point in the game, you can actually make the choice to either leave him behind or rescue him. Watch the video to see what happens when you abandon him. (And then, of course, come to your senses and make the right call, so the story can continue.)
Calendar Man’s Rundown
Even though he doesn’t physically take part in “Batman: Arkham City,” you don’t want to miss the opportunity to pay Calendar Man a visit, as he dwells within the courthouse Two Face has taken control of. Simply drop by to speak with the offbeat rogue on each of the 12 official U.S. holidays, and he’ll tell you something different each time. Get through all of them and you’ll not only unlock a “Storyteller” Achievement/Trophy, but also watch as, on the last visit, he decides not to stick around.
Batman vs…Bruce Wayne?
In the “Identity Theft” mission of “Batman: Arkham City,” you end up tracking a dangerous doctor who’s got some vicious plans when it comes to obtaining a new identity. But once Batman tracks him down, the Caped Crusader is shocked to discover he not only knows the doctor, but the villain has taken on a rather unusual identity — Bruce Wayne’s.
Scene of the Crime
Batman wasn’t always Batman. There was a time he was just an innocent lad named Bruce Wayne, until his parents were viciously taken away from him. In “Batman: Arkham City,” you can actually pay a visit to the location where they were murdered, paying your respects — and being rewarded an Achievement/Trophy at the same time.
Did You Find the Audio Tapes?
Last, but definitely not least, there’s an Easter Egg that will keep you hunting a good long time, throughout the course of the entire game. See, scattered throughout Arkham City is a series of audio tapes featuring interviews conducted by Dr. Hugo Strange, himself. On the tapes, Strange is heard speaking to a number of villains in a rather frank manner. Here’s a sample of the Penguin’s for you to listen to. The rest are up to you to find.

Remember there was a rumor in the internet that Joker died in Arkham City? Well, JimmyHACK was kind enough to upload the actual footage to clarify any confusion the rumors might have arised. Don’t forget to thank JimmyHACK for posting the video.
Now to the gruesome truth about the Joker’s death. For those who can’t wait to finish the game and see it with their own eyes. Original video posted by XCVii007r1. Let me know what you think I and thank them for the uploads as well
REST IN PEACE JOKER… You might be dead in Arkham City, but you’re still live and kickin’ in DC Universe. Long live the Joker!
I strongly recommend you guys also watch the full credits at the end of the game. What you’d hear will make you smile….a little…(sigh). Joker’s last message before he died. Wonder who did he sent it to, hm… I took the liberty of postinging it here. Click on the video below
Posted in YouTube by FAHEY KOTAKU today (thanks a million fromt he bottom of my heart) we finally get a glimpse of what the Nightwing character can do in Arkham City and he can do a lot of damage. His move are very fluid and acrobatic, just like those of someone with some circus training, and also shows some of the characteristic cockiness that has been the character trademark since its conception. The NIGHTWING PACK seems to be available only after NOVEMBER 1 (from sources unknown, it just says so in the trailer). Now for you all to enjoy it:
