New Injustice Joker Action Figure

DC Collectibles announced at the end of last month that they are planning on releasing a new figure based on the INJUSTICE:  GODS AMONG US game play.  The new figure is going to be smaller than the previous one released this year and will provide a new sculpt.  Here is a preview of the figure:

DC Collectibles held a Q&A on their Facebook page about some of their products. They revealed a new Injustice Joker 3.75″ Figure. The image shows a work in progress sculpt, so some details may change. Other than that, for the most part, nothing too revealing. injusticejokerpicWB has announced that Batgirl will be the next DLC character to be released for the videogame INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US and what better idea than to introduce her in  the context of the now classic KILLING JOKE storyline.  They even have a Killing Joke Joker skin I am dying to download myself for my game, hope it comes with the package or can be bought separately soon (it’s easier than earn them points to unlock stuff, believe me. I am just starting to get the basic moves of the characters).  In the meantime, enjoy this clip introducing Batgirl to the INUSTICE universe.

injusticejokerpic Scanning the Tube, I was thrilled to checkout the latest on the Joker appearance on the game.  I found a few vids I would like to share with Jokerdom and have to say that even if he is the real thing or not (for details read the latest INJUSTICE: GODS AMONGS US comic prequel) but I have to say… I LOVE HIS MOVES. 

I think they captured the Joker’s whimsical fighting style with lots of interesting darker aspects of his personality from recent storylines. He is funny….and at the same time…DARKER (like Arkham Asylum’s Mr. J).  I like this Joker much more than the one I saw  and heard in DC vs MORTAL COMBAT video game (though I think the problem there was the dialogue not the voice acting).  

Oh, and the voice…suits him very nice…Mr. Epcar has definitely matured into the character.  ENCORE!

injusticejokerpicOk, I needed to know  how they were going to make Joker a playable character after the events of the INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US comic storyline between him and the Boy Scout and this just made me smile…Hope he IS the real one this time…

Found on the  net this interesting study for a Joker figure based on the game Injustice and the sketch looks fantastic…take a look:

Then I have found (overseas since no one in the US seems to have a picture of him) that this is what the actual action figure looks like….

I am not an expert, but i think that the concept is totally lost on the actual figure ( if this is the final look.)  The face sculpt is all wrong, and it would have worked with more 3D effct of the straps and jacket.  It just looks…plastered on the body when I think it should have been a loser fit…like TDK’s Joker jacket.  And there is something witht the final color pallette…that I fail to put my finger on, but that bothers me tremendously.  Anyway. Let’s hope the ‘American’ market Joker is a little better…

I think mine is going to stay in the box when I buy it.

…and how pretty he is.  I think though he remains true to his comic book character (with a face…(smile it is a joke!)) I also think he reminds me a little of CESAR ROMERO’s Joker…maybe in the face, but mainly in his slightly curly hair.  I would love to see what new moves this Clown is hiding under his sleeves and if there are going to be extra skins to put on in in the game.  Probably, they are doing it with the other characters too…

One thing we do know for sure, however, is that that The Joker — who was recently revealed as a playable character — will have an “integral” role in the story of Injustice: Gods Among Us.

“The Joker is front and center on the front of our box and there’s reason he’s front and center,” Injustice: Gods Among Us producer Hector Sanchez hinted to us.

“He’s a very integral part of our storyline in the game and is kind of the center piece of what’s going on,” he added. “Knowing how chaotic The Joker’s personality is, you can imagine how loopy and out of this world our story is.”

First things first:

INJUSTICE:  GODS AMONG US:

  • Played the demo for the new DC Video Game INJUSTICE:  GODS AMONG US and it is just to die for.  They had the playable demo with Green Arrow there and also with Catwoman and though it almost look like a rip off of Mortal Combat, it felt really good to punch something.  The graphics are superb and the moves are incredible.
  • Confirmed by one of the guys in the gaming department (and for those that were wondering)  JOKER was announced as a playable character in the game, though no demo of his moves were available to play at this time.  Can’t wait to see what the Clown is capable of.

 

DARK KNIGHT RETURNS PART 2 PREVIEW AT THE IGN THEATER

  • Saw an incredible preview of the upcoming part 2 of the Frank Miller adaptation of THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS and though just a little bit of Joker was seen, it was enough to make me smile (they showed scene of Joker in the talk show were he announces he’s going to kill everybody in the audience).  I think that Mr. Emerson is doing a great thing with this character and it is going to be a memorable perfomance.
  • DC announced that the voice of the TV show host in the movie is none other than Conan O’Brien and that he did a great job during the sesion.
  • The two movies were shot back to back, hired 33 voice actors and with each actor doing at least 3 different voices, you can imagine the scope of the production.
  • Talking about the score, Bruce Timm revealed that each character has his own beat.  Batman being mostly techno and synthesizer while Superman is more orchestral in nature.
  • When asked, Bruce Timm said that though he has fulfilled goal of bringing two classics to the small screen (Batman Year One and The Dark Knight Returns) he still has interests in other classics like HUSH and KILLING JOKE ( no info if any of those are on consideration at this moment, but showing some interest is promising)
  • Other DC Animated projects to be expected for 2013:
    • SUPERMAN UNBOUND:  Based on the Brainiac/ Superman storyline by Geoff Johns
    • JUSTICE LEAGUE FLASHPOINT: DC gets its take on the multititle crossover in one production.  Film could possibly be previewed as soon as San Diego next year.
    • LEGO BATMAN THE MOVIE:  DC HEROES UNITED:  Following the success of the game. Bruce Timm confirmed the relase of the animated movie next year and presented a short but hilarious clip of the movie.  The production promises to satisfy the little kids as much as the big kids. harley1200The guys at IGN have uploaded a match from the new game INJUSTICE:  GODS AMONG US to show the versatility of this new Mortal Kombat style fight game.  The two contenders:  HARLEY QUINN vs. SALOMON GRUNDY.  The quality of the video is good, and the moves are quite impressive.  I personally don’t like Harley’s new look, but she can really pack a punch ( They should make alternate skins for her with her old costume.  That sure will bring many more Harley lovers to play this game I think.

If any of you thought the Harley from ARKHAM CITY was the new version of this character…think again

The guys at NETHEREALM STUDIOS have reinvented the character once more and she will be joining the already large cast of the new videogame INJUSTICE:  GODS AMONGS US.

I don’t know what to make about this new version.  Yes, she needed to evolve, but there were some small perks that made Harley both cute and lethal at the same time.  Now it just seems that the scale tilts towards the psycho and not so cute.  Another thing, no Joker in this series means that the Clown is really dead in the entire videogameworld?
